I was looking for something that was unique to me. Something based off of who I am and my heritage. I’ve always had good luck, and I seemed to just zap any bad luck juju right out of the room. Add in a some fine ass Irish and Native American DNA and boom … Luckcatcher. I opened up Fireworks, again— I’m not an artist, and started my first round of logo mockups.
At this point, it was time to pull in the Artistic Big Guns for some advice. Mikall gave me some great suggestions right off the bat. First, I flattened all the details, and it really felt like I was going in the right direction. I played with some details to see what I liked.
Now it was time to head back to Mikall and get her help. Back when I first made this logo, Fireworks was still a thing. So, I was actually able to design while Mikall backseat drove.
She suggested an uneven circle and strings. Made the whole thing look more organic and awesome. Now, I’d like the take credit for how the ring and strings turned out, but Mikall had to clean them up and make it look really nice for me. But, I wasn’t happy with the feathers. I looked online, and I found a cool feather to mimic.
That’s pretty much the whole story on how the logo was made. I’ll have another blog talking about the amulet made from the logo and what Luckcatcher use to mean to me and what it does now. Until next time.
