So, this one is based off a true event. I lived not 10 miles away from San Augustine during The Dark Times. With all the protesting going on in the world, it seemed like a good time to write something on a subject I know nothing about. Basically, a modern day expert. Plus, I was cranking out the last few videos, and I needed material. Enjoy the 7th Demonetized!
The human brain is not very great at remembering the truth. It will trick you into remembering things that are interesting rather than what sucked. In the case of San Augustine, a town in East Texas, that thing would be COCAAAAAAINE. Yep, the town is known for a huge cocaine seizure. Pounds and pounds of cocaine. Over 75 pounds each week coming up from Houston, or so the local law enforcement and politicians would have everyone believe. When a raid of 200 federal agents went in to bust the drug trafficking, known as Operation White Tornado, they only found 5 ounces.
You know the story. San Augustine at the time was a small town of around 8000. The county was 30% black, and 50 of the 54 people arrested were black. But, that’s not what East Texas at large remembers. Everyone remembers what’s cool to think back on and not what hurts. Look, East Texas sucks. I escaped that place, and I’m not going back. I don’t understand why anyone would want to go back to something so crappy. But then again, people play the hellhole known as Classic.
